Celebrity-Inspired Eye Makeup for Halloween 2020
While 2020 seemed like the year of sweatpants, baking out of boredom and Tik Tok dancing, some of your favorite celebs turned COVID times into cold hard cash with chart toppers and Emmy wins.
This Halloween, transform into the celebs that kept us entertained throughout quarantine. Read on for makeup looks inspired by the performers that truly won 2020.
Look #1: Zendaya in “Euphoria”
This year, Zendaya made history as the youngest Emmy recipient for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. The talented starlet is known for her role as Rue in HBO’s “Euphoria,” but OG fans have been following her work since the “Shake It Up” days. To celebrate the starlet, I’ve recreated her iconic glittered, tear-streaming eyes for a Euphoria-themed Halloween look.
What You’ll Need:
- Light pink cream color with a metallic finish
- White loose glitter with a pink-purple reflect
- Star-shaped glitter
- Pink-purple highlighter with an iridescent finish
- Brown eye pencil
- Mascara
- Clear gloss
- Glitter adhesive
- Flat brush
-
With a flat brush, apply a shimmery light shade like Danessa Myricks Beauty ColorFix 24-Hour Cream Color Metallic in Ballerina to your lids.
-
Line your upper and lower lids with brown eye pencil and smudge.
-
Apply an iridescent pink-purple highlight shade, like Stila Glitter & Glow Highlighter in Queen, along your brow bone, cheekbone and along the bridge of your nose. Also apply the highlighter underneath the outer corner of your right eye to create a shimmery, wet-eyed effect.
-
Dip your flat brush into a glitter adhesive, then pick up a white iridescent glitter, like Lit Cosmetics Lit Glitter in Vanilla Ice. Gently pat the sparkles onto your lids. Don’t clear off any fall out, the more glitter the better.
-
On the highest part of your left cheekbone, apply additional glitter and add 1 holographic glitter star on top.
-
Picking up some clear gloss and with the doe foot applicator, create a tear-like stream of gloss going down the center of your left eye. Repeat application to intensify the wet look.
-
Curl your lashes, apply mascara and add a swipe of clear gloss to your lips to finish off the look.
Look #2: Doja Cat in “Say So”
If this wasn’t your favorite song in 2020…don’t ~say so~ because I won’t hear of it. When I first saw Doja Cat’s “Say So” music video, I was instantly inspired by the revival of '70s beauty and style. My favorite look? Doja’s electrifying, green smoky eyes and bedazzled ensemble. Follow the steps below for retro peepers. Add glossy lips and rhinestone hoops to complete the look.

She collaborated with fellow pop queen Ariana Grande for the song “Rain on Me,” a metallic-infused music video filled with plenty of outfit changes in true Gaga fashion.
