Interparfums FY 2022: record earnings as operating profit soars 33 percent

THE WHAT? Interparfums has reported its results for the 2022 fiscal year. The fragrance giant recorded record earnings for the full year with net income up 40 percent on 2021’s figures and sales rising 26 percent to €706.6 million. THE DETAILS The company noted that it had extended its partnership with Montblanc until December 31, 2030 and, subject to the General Meeting’s ratification, hit its goal of achieving gender parity on its board. THE WHY? Philippe Benacin, Chairman and CEO, commented, “Against the backdrop of a turbulent economic and geopolitical environment, our sales and earnings continued to grow in 2022. If you’re going to keep a tube of lipstick on your desk so you can touch up before video calls, then you should probably also remember to check your teeth for lipstick before you start said video call! — and that, my friend, is your daily makeup advice from the virtual beauty-loving sister you never wanted but ended up with anyway, ha ha ha! 😹

The other day at work, we were talking about makeup, and one of my coworkers mentioned that when she was growing up her mom was always dressed to the nines before she left the house, even if she was just going to the grocery store. She said her mom would always drop these nuggets of beauty advice, like “Never go outside with your curlers on,” and “Always put on lipstick before you leave the house.” This, of course, blew my mind, because when I was a tween and teen, I got all my advice from “Seventeen” magazine… I think when I was about eight my mom told me to put some lotion on my legs before I went outside to play, and that was the extent of my beauty education at home.
