Is The Emsella Treatment Worth It?

Is The Emsella Treatment Worth It?

Urinary incontinence is something that so many of us put up with every day knowing that it’s a problem that isn’t getting better on its own. Not only do we ‘put up’ with it, but so often we have to adapt our behaviour to accommodate it; wearing incontinence pads, making sure you know where the nearest toilet is, not drinking too late for fear of multiple bathrooms runs in the night, these are all coping mechanisms when you are dealing with urinary incontinence.

So, why do we put up with this problem? Simply, it can be embarrassing to admit that you’re having a problem controlling your bladder; additionally, not everybody knows that you can have stress and urge incontinence treated, let alone have a *non-invasive* treatment for urinary incontinence.

If the above situation resonates, then it may be beneficial for you to explore and learn a little more about the Emsella treatment. In short, Emsella is a completely non-invasive treatment for stress and urge urinary incontinence; all this treatment requires is for you to have a course of 30-minute treatments where you sit, fully clothed, on the Emsella chair. Here you can read more about the Emsella chair-how the treatment feels, how it works, and so on.

As this issue is so common, especially among those of us who are peri-menopausal; those who have gone through menopause; and those of us who have been pregnant, it’s no wonder that the Emsella treatment became super popular when we launched this treatment in our Hertfordshire clinic. One of our regular clients, Liz, decided to give the Emsella treatment a go and we asked her if she would give us her feedback… we simply asked her ‘is Emsella worth it?’ and here’s what she said:

“I have so much to report on my results after the Emsella treatments so will try and keep it brief and focus on what I can do now that I couldn’t before.  My answer to the question is a resounding YES which my experience below will confirm.  I will most definitely be keeping up with maintenance treatments.

Since having Emsella:

  • I can stop and hold mid-flow.
  • I can now do Kegel exercises myself and hold for a count of 10.
  • I no longer have that ‘heavy’ feeling as if my insides are about to fall out!
  • When I go to the loo, my urine doesn’t just fall out, it seems I’ve got that weeing sound back which I hadn’t even noticed wasn’t there anymore.
  • I no longer need to be constantly aware of where the next toilet is.

In fact, I had a real test recently – I was on a plane that landed but was held on the runway for almost 2 hours (toilets were closed for use).  The rest of my journey was affected and once off the plane, I had to run immediately to catch a train.  It was just over 4 hours later that I was able to get to a loo and at this point, I was absolutely desperate to go.  Before Emsella, I would have had an accident by then.

Many thanks,

Liz “
