13 Ways To Have A DIY Spa Day At Home
I love spa days. They're relaxing and therapeutic, and they make me feel like I'm doing something good for my body and mind. But sometimes it's hard to find the time or money for a trip to the spa. That's why I created this list of DIY spa day ideas that don't require much money or effort but will still leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated!
Make a DIY bath bomb.Bath bombs are a fun way to help you relax, sleep and feel fresh. They also make great gifts! You can use them to add an extra layer of scent to your favorite bath products or use them in place of a traditional bubble bath. There’s no need to splurge on expensive bath bombs when you can make them at home for less than $2 each. Here are some easy DIY recipes for making your own bath bombs:
Create a facial at-home using natural products. If you've ever wanted to try a DIY facial at home, now is the time! Here are some easy steps to follow:
-
Use a face mask. You can use any of your favorite natural products for this step—from clay masks and scrubs to oils and lotions. The options are endless!
-
Use a scrub. This can be made out of any kind of oatmeal, sugar or other cleansing ingredients (like salt) that will gently exfoliate your skin while also hydrating it at the same time. It's one of my favorite parts because it makes me feel like I'm getting pampered without having to go anywhere! Plus there's no need for expensive spa treatments when all you need is some basic supplies from home!
-
You'll want to make sure you have the right ingredients. You can find many of these at your local grocery store or health food store, but it's also fun to experiment with creating your own recipes from scratch.
-
There are plenty of tools that can help you get the job done, like spatulas and blenders.
-
There are several methods for making masks: mixing by hand, whisking in an electric mixer, blending in a blender (or food processor), or using a mortar and pestle for crushing spices together before adding them to the mix.
-
The mask can be used on your face or body to brighten skin tone and remove excess oil from pores; it can also be used on hair as a conditioner after shampooing!
Essential oils are natural and safe, making them a great addition to your home spa experience. You can use essential oils in many different ways:
-
You can add them to baths, lotions and massage oils.
-
Use them as aromatherapy candles instead of scented candles.
You can make your own body wash or bath bomb to add fun and fragrance to your everyday shower. You can use essential oils to add fragrance, natural ingredients like coconut oil, cocoa butter or shea butter for moisturizing properties, and/or a dash of color for some extra pampering!
Bath bombs are a great way to spice up your routine if you aren’t interested in making up a full batch of DIY body wash. They usually contain baking soda which helps soften skin while also adding color and fragrance.
Take an Epsom salt soak and steam to relax the muscles in your face and body.Epsom salt is a natural mineral that can be used to soothe the skin, relieve muscle pain and promote sleep. It can also be used as a compress for your face and body to help relax tense muscles.
To make an Epsom salt soak:
-
Fill your bathtub with warm water (around 104 degrees) and add 1 cup of Epsom salts.
-
Soak in the tub for at least 10 minutes or overnight if you have time.[1][2]
-
If you'd like, you can add some essential oils like lavender or rosemary oil—but they're not required!
Waxing is a great way to get rid of unwanted hair, but it can be painful. Before you wax at home, make sure that you have the right tools and know what you're doing. To do this, we recommend booking an appointment with a professional aesthetician in your area who can show you how to use the waxing kit properly.
Renew your skin with an at-home microdermabrasion treatment that uses sugar and lemon juice as an exfoliant. This DIY spa treatment is so easy to make and use, you'll wonder why you've been paying for microdermabrasion treatments at the spa. Here's what you need to know:
-
Mix together equal parts of raw sugar and lemon juice. Use more sugar if your skin is very dry or sensitive, less if it's normal-to-oily.
-
Apply the scrub all over your face with a gentle circular motion, avoiding the eye area (you can also use this mixture on other parts of your body). Leave on for about five minutes before rinsing with warm water; follow up with a moisturizer or serum.
-
Create your own lip scrub with sugar and honey, and make sure you hydrate those lips with a homemade lip balm!
-
A little sugar and honey can do wonders for your lips if you're looking for an exfoliant. Rubbing the mixture on the skin around the mouth will gently remove dead skin cells, which leaves the area feeling softer.
-
It's also a good idea to use a lip scrub before applying lipstick because it helps keep color from settling into fine lines while it keeps your pout moisturized.
-
Finally, you can use a lip scrub before applying lip balm if you have particularly dry lips; this will ensure that your chapstick goes on smoothly without feeling sticky or greasy afterward.
A hot bath is a great way to relax after a long day. Add some candles and music, and you’re set for an evening of self-care.
If you want to make the water look more colorful, use bath bombs or bath salts that change colors when they mix with water (like this one). Many of these products come in scents as well! They’ll add even more relaxation to your night of pampering.
Make your own DIY spa scrub.A DIY spa scrub is a great way to take your bath or shower from ordinary to extraordinary. It's easy and inexpensive, so you can make one whenever you want!
For this recipe, use a jar of olive oil and some salt—about 1 teaspoon of each will do the trick. Mix them together until it looks like a paste. Add essential oils if desired (I used lavender), then mix again before adding into your bath or shower as needed. When finished bathing/showering, use warm water on face or body as usual; then dry off thoroughly before applying lotion/oil over entire area that has been scrubbed with this mixture! You'll be left with soft skin ready for pampering!
Make your own salt scrub and use it in the bath or shower.Salt is a natural exfoliant, so it's a great way to get rid of dead skin cells. You can use salt scrub while you're in the bath or shower and on your body or face—you just need to make sure that if you're using it on your face, then make sure that it doesn't have any other ingredients besides salt.
How To Make Salt Scrub:
-
Mix together 1 cup coarse sea salt with 3 tbsp coconut oil and 15 drops of essential oils (optional).
-
Use about 2 tsp per application
The first step in a DIY spa day is to cleanse and nourish your skin. You can do this with a face mask, which you can make at home out of natural ingredients. Face masks can be used to treat specific skin conditions and improve the appearance of your skin.
Create a DIY massage oil by combining essential oils, carrier oils and base oils.If you’re looking for a way to calm your mind and body, try creating a DIY massage oil by combining essential oils, carrier oils and base oils. Essential oils are the best choice for massage oil because they have the most powerful effects on the person being massaged. A good starting place is ½ cup base oil (such as coconut or olive), ¼ cup carrier oil (such as jojoba or almond) and 15 drops of essential oil. Combine all three in a jar and shake well before each use!
